A fisherman lived by the seaside. As he grew old and weakened, he was unable to catch fish in the sea. He struggled every day to make a living.

One day, while he was sitting by the seashore, a beautiful large bird with white feathers and red eyes came there. It had a majestic appearance and caught his attention. With great curiosity, he watched the bird closely.

The bird, which was a celestial being known as “Kaaha,” looked at the fisherman and asked, “Why do you toil in the scorching sun here, old man? Don’t you have anyone to help you back at your home?”

“I have no one”, replied the fisherman.

“You shouldn’t be working so hard at this age. From now on, I will bring you a fish every day. Sell it and make money out of it.” Kaaha said firmly and then flew away.

Kaaha brought a large fish to the fisherman’s house daily from next day onwards. It was known only to the old man where it came from.

Since the fish had a good taste, the fisherman began selling it at a high price. He started living a comfortable life. He even thought of getting married again as he lost his wife. Whatever happened on a day today basis, Kaaha always kept up its word. Kaaha brought the big fish without fail.

One day, there was a announcement made from the king’s palace by the workers. They had come to that place with the knowledge that there was a bird named Kaaha, which was considered necessary for the king now, and they were tasked with obtaining information about the bird.

“Why does the king need Kaaha?” asked the fisherman to the workers from palace.

The palace workers looked the fisherman for a while. They said, “If we dip our eyes in Kaaha’s blood, we will regain our vision, The king has lost his vision so he needs Kaaha’s blood to take bath, so that the king can regain his vision” and they turned their gaze back to Kaaha. They continued, “Do you know anything about Kaaha?” they asked.

The fisherman replied,” I don’t know anything about it.” Actually he does not confront this. He got stuck inbetween gratefully acknowledging Kaaha’s help, and receiving the precious gold from the king, His mind starts to question his insatiable greed. He didn’t realize that his desires have no end and that he cannot find contentment.

The guards from the palace had a doubt on this fisherman, so they apprehend the fisherman and took him to the king. Overwhelmed with remorse, the fisherman said, “Kaaha is a magnificent bird. It cannot be captured by one person.”

The king instructs the ten guards to accompany the fisherman to his house. They went to the fisherman’s home and were waiting for kaaha’s arrival. Without knowing anything Kaaha came as usual with the big fish.

When Kaaha dropped the fish, The fisherman said, “Kaaha! I have never thanked you all these days. Today, I feel like I must tell you something. So please come in;

Kaaha trusted him and entered his home. The fisherman caught its leg holded it tightly and with the help of the guards who were stationed inside, he tried to capture Kaaha.

But Kaaha was quickly understood his plan, Kaaha raised high along with the fisherman holding its feet and began to fly high. The fisherman was holding its leg as he was scared that he loose life if he leave its feet.

From that day onwards, no one could see Kaaha or the fisherman there.

Never make a person to get in to trouble, especially those who helped you in tough times that is a great sin.
