தெய்வத்தான் ஆகா தெனினும் முயற்சிதன்

மெய்வருத்தக் கூலி தரும்.

Poonjolai is a beautiful village. In that village, no matter where you looked, there were lush green fields. Manivannan, a good-hearted man, lived there. He believed that God would protect him without making any effort in any situation. He thought that if someone helps another person, it is God who helps that person, and he held this belief close to his heart without expressing it aloud.

For the wedding of his close relative, Manivannan had to travel to Kiliyanur, a village nearby Poonjolai. He took his bullock cart and set off to attend the wedding. On the way to Kiliyanur, the cart’s wheels got stuck in the mud, and the bulls could not move.

But the bulls tried to move from the mud but manivannan was simply watching and didn’t make a try.

Immediately, he exclaimed, “Oh God! Protect me from this suffering.” Suddenly, he heard a voice from the sky saying, “Oh, human! You, without even making a small effort, expect me to help you get your bulls and cart out of the mud. In the first place, use your own strength to take out the cart. Then try to free the bulls. All these tasks are within your capability. After that, call for my help. I will come to assist you. I will definitely help those who make efforts. I will not help those who do not try.”

Without delay, Manivannan used his own strength to remove the cart, placed the bulls in the right position, and pulled the cart out of the mud. Now, the cart was ready to move again. Manivannan understood the essence of making an effort.

God blessed Manivannan from the sky.

Moral: God helps those who help themselves. Therefore, we must put in efforts ourselves to succeed. God’s grace will naturally come to us when we strive with sincerity.
