In a town, there lived a man named Dinesh. He always had a desire to live a luxurious life. He would buy all the things that caught his eye. People would buy expensive items for their ears, thinking that someone else would pay a higher price than him, but he would immediately find a way to acquire it. He lived without realizing the importance of the fragrance that tickles the nose, the taste that pleases the tongue, and the food that satisfies the mouth.

In the same town, there was a person named Selvam. He would earn money every day and fulfill his essential needs. His mind was never desirous of anything. No matter how much wealth or money he had, he did not find contentment in his heart.

Dinesh, no matter how many possessions he had or how much money he had, he did not find satisfaction in his mind. In this town,
along with his desires, he also suffered from the constant fear of someone surpassing him. He couldn’t find peace at night. If a
thief came and stole something, or if someone tried to harm us, he lived with that fear.

But wealth alone doesn’t guarantee happiness. Despite his wealth, he is devoid of any divine intervention and lacks contentment. Even if he accumulates more money, it will only fuel his greed, distancing him from spirituality. He understands the importance of humility and serves others. Yet, due to this, he lacks inner peace and tranquility. Unaware of how to manage his desires, he is constantly battling numerous afflictions.

Therefore, in order to attain mental peace, he must cultivate the desire to relinquish all materialistic pursuits and embrace selflessness. By restraining his desires and focusing on the well-being of others, he can overcome various illnesses that plague him today.

Hence, we too can live a fulfilling life by transcending our personal ambitions and incorporating the five principles while earning our livelihood. This way, we can achieve a state of contentment in our lives.
